Last night we kicked off the musical portion of SXSW 2009 with Bogotá's purveyors of "cumbia sicodélica," Bomba Estéreo. Lead singer Li Saumet is like a Latinasian Annabella Lwin complete with 80's cassette tape belt buckle and guitarist Julian Salazar treated us to a spacey jam in the middle of "Fuego," that we just had to share.
