SXSW 2009: Bomba Estéreo Kicks It Off Right

Last night we kicked off the musical portion of SXSW 2009 with Bogotá’s purveyors of “cumbia sicodélica,” Bomba Estéreo. Lead singer Li Saumet is like a Latinasian Annabella Lwin complete with 80’s cassette tape belt buckle and guitarist Julian Salazar treated us to a spacey jam in the middle of “Fuego,” that we just had to share.
