eHarmony Forced To Go Gay By New Jersey Attorney General

compatible_partners_3_31_09eHarmony, the Orville Redenbacher dating site that has been exclusively for heteros since it launched in 2000, has been forced by a lawsuit from New Jersey’s attorney general to open a separate but equal website that caters to gays. Who’s going to be the first one to post a picture of their platano?

The site, called Compatible Partners, is part of a settlement with the AG that accused founder Neil Clark Warren of discrimination. His company must make a “good-faith commitment” to promoting the gay site to stay within terms of the settlement. But Neil says his experience as a psychologist and matchmaker for 40 years does not coincide. He never once saw a gay couple. So like we said before, who’s going to be the first to post their platano for Neil to see?

But Neil may not be a total lost cause. Although much of eHarmony’s early promotion was done by evangelicals who actually preach against gay rights in their professional lives, Neil told the Los Angeles Times that he and his wife are friends with a gay couple they met in Maine, where they live most of the year.

“I asked them, ‘Are you guys committed?’ ” Warren said, “and one said yes and the other said, ‘I think so.’

“And the first one said, ‘You’d better be!’ “

Gay people. They’re just like us.

I’m a bit torn on this. On one hand, it’s great that the is a site like this but then again there are plenty of dating sites. On the other hand, I’m not sure how I feel about forcing him to make a site that caters to the gheys.

Are they going to force Match.com also? what about all the other dating sites? it seems quite odd that they focus on eHarmony only. Persecution against Christians? Just to be devil’s advocate, no pun intended

  3. I admit I’m out of the loop when it comes to online dating and I honestly had no idea eHarmony didn’t have a gay option. I can’t believe their 40-question exam doesn’t have a “do you like platanos?” question.

The difference between eharmoney and the other dating websites is that this one claims to match people based on a psychological analysis. eHarmony claims that they have no data on homosexual relationships and individuals to make an honest match. My thoughts are for them to do the research instead of saying they don’t have the research, and I guess they are going to have to now.

That is total bullshit, they are a private company and they should be able to cater to whatever market segment they want to. I’m gonna sue AfroSheen and Ambi products because they are only for black people, how about that??
