Peruvian Luciana Leon Tops World’s Most Beautiful Politicians List

Peruvian congresswoman Luciana Leon tops a list of “The World’s Most Beautiful Female Polticians,” an honor (?) decided by Spanish paper 20 Minutos. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Spanish women dominate the list with five nominees - Cayetana Alvarez, Carme Chacon, Bibiana Aido, Soraya Saenz and Monica Lorente Ramon.
Mexico and the U.S. tied with four women each. Among the U.S.’s loveliest politicians are Sarah Palin and, coming in as the oldest woman on the list at 61 years old, Hillary Clinton.
The youngest, at 22 years old, is flame-haired German Left Party member Julia Bonk, who was elected into German parliament at the age of 18.
Rounding out the list at number 54 is Afghan politician Malalai Joya, dubbed “the bravest woman in Afghanistan” for her work
Our first reaction to this list was something along the lines of “Blerg.” But the women on the list (with maaaybe one exception) are hard-working and accomplished - even if being beautiful is not, in itself, an accomplishment. And it was nice to see women from all different ethnicities, different body tips and a wide range of ages included on the list. They really are all each beautiful in some way. Although why this list failed to include Janet Reno is, frankly, beyond us.
