George Lopez To Host Late Night Talk Show On TBS This Fall

Oh my God, Chelsea. George Lopez is getting his own late night talk show. Perhaps it’s the success of his re-runs on Nick-at-Night, but this actually strikes us as a pretty genius fit. The only problem is it’s going to be on TBS, home of The Bill Engvall Show, and Tyler Perry’s House of Payne. The announcement was made today with an ethnically cryptic endorsement from TBS Vice President of Marketing Michael Wright.
George and TBS are going to change the late-night television landscape and bring a brand-new energy to the talk-show genre by giving it a street-party atmosphere.
If that isn’t some bullshit racist code, we don’t know what is, but we’re so excited, we don’t care. The show launches in November in the 11pm timeslot and, as yet, doesn’t have a name, so we decided to come up with a few of our own. George, feel free to steal.

Street-party atmosphere? Does this mean there’s going to be some Hispano caricature like George’s primo Pancho banging a cow bell while Tia Juana shakes her ta-tas before every commercial break? Or will the entire show actually take place at a street festival?
