Ingmar Guandique Charged With Chandra Levy Murder

Ingmar Guandique, the Salvadoran day laborer who was under suspicion of having killed federal intern Chandra Levy, has now been formally charged with her murder. Guandique is currently serving a 10-year prison sentence in California for two assaults on women in Washington’s Rock Creek Park, both of which occurred around the time of Chandra’s disappearance.
Guandique is an illegal alien who was previously offered amnesty by the U.S. government. A statement from the Eastern Region Office of the Immigration and Naturalization Service explained Guandique’s status in the United States:
Our records indicate that Mr. Guandique entered the United States illegally but was eligible for an immigration benefit because of the designation of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for nationals of El Salvador. He filed for that benefit and received work authorization while that application was pending. The application has subsequently been denied because Guandique failed to submit fingerprints.
An article in Free Republic seems to make the argument that Guandique having illegally entered the U.S. is somehow connected to his tendency to act violently: “Washington is a more dangerous city because of criminal aliens. Guandique’s brief, violent residency in the city demonstrates the point.”
‘Cause, you know. It’s not like citizens ever commit crimes. Or people flee their countries of origin because they lack a future or are afraid for their lives. It’s totally just to murder sweet, innocent Americans and steal the jobs you’d never consider taking. And then shit on your lawn. Immigrants, man!

do you people know anything? TPS isn’t Amnesty. it just gives you a temporary stay in the US based on a catastrophe in your homeland.
