“Real Housewife Of NY” Kelly Killoren Bensimon’s Assaulted BF, Nicholas Stefanov, Compares Himself To Rihanna

“The Real Housewives of New York City’s” newest trainwreck, Kelly Killoren Bensimon, has been accused of assaulting her younger boyfriend, Nicholas Stefanov. Bensimon, 40, and her lawyer say that the allegations come from a jilted lover seeking revenge, but Stefabnov maintains that he’s telling the truth… and compares his suffering and injuries to Rihanna’s.

Says  Stefanov, 30: ”If I had done it to her, I would have been put in jail immediately. My injuries are worse than Rihanna’s—and Chris Brown was charged with two felonies.”

Stefanov days he suffered a black eye and a cut on his cheekbone after Bensimon punched him last week.

While his comparison is kind of, sort of tacky in the sense that it’s never a good idea to compare one’s suffering to another - especially when that other was physically weaker than her assailant, and trapped in a car at the time of her attack - it does bring up the point that domestic violence perpetrated by women is rarely ever taken seriously. And there’s a good reason for that, given men have also been more powerful, physically and otherwise, throughout most of history. The act itself may be the same, but the symbolism and the impact of a man taking a fist to a woman is still markedly different from a woman punching a man. 

We have no problem, however, realizing that punching someone is not only hurtful, it also makes for good reality TV fodder. We hope Stefanov gets a book deal out of this and that Bensimon can buy loads of fancy new tampon cases or whatever. Everybody wins! Puttin’ the ka-ching in Dome$tic Violen¢e.
