“Passive Aggressive Notes” Is Our New Favorite Site To Read At Work (:
19 March 2009, 6:00 PM. By Alex Alvarez
Now that everyone is over “Stuff White People Like,” and “Fuck My Life” is getting predictable, “Passive Aggressive Notes” is our newest site to look over while we’re supposed to be working. (Although now, technically, that counts as “research.”)
The site, which describes itself as displaying “painfully polite and hilariously hostile writings from shared spaces the world over,” features everything from flyers to Post-Its to painstakingly crafted posters left by disgruntled roommates, family members, co-workers and neighbors.
Some of the notes aren’t so much passive aggressive as they are outright mean… or obliviously earnest. But there are a few gems among them, like an empty toilet paper roll taped to a wall beside a Post-It reading, “Can you wipe with this? I can’t. So please change out empty rolls. :) (They are behind you.)”
A happy face makes everything better. Like: We do wish some commenters would learn basic reading comprehension skills before responding to a post. :D
See? It’s fun.
We particularly enjoy this site because, well. We’ve been known to leave a few passive aggressive notes in our day. The most recent? Upon observing that a former short-term roommate regularly left massive amount of pubic hair in the drain, we posted the following on the bathroom door:
Hi ****! Could you be sure to clean out the drain after you shower? The water is taking a long time to drain for some reason.
It was like the girl from The Ring was hiding out in our tub’s drain, waiting to do unspeakable things to our ankles. CLEAN YOUR PEEPEE HAIRS, KTHNX.
Do you have any stories on passive aggressive notes you’ve left or received? Do share!

Ay nina, I was all about this site something like a year ago? And I discovered fmylife all of yesterday.
It was new to me! And, oddly, to the two people who sent me the link this morning.
This line? “A happy face makes everything better. Like: We do wish some commenters would learn basic reading comprehension skills before responding to a post. :D” = PRICELESS. I so regret commenting on the Jackie Guerra post b/c my inbox has been stuffed with the replies of illiterate trolls.
Ay, seriously, this site is sooooo last week.
