pistachio_recall_3_31_09 Salmonella–are we right or are we right? Salmonella tainted food warnings have become the terrorist alerts of the late oughts and this month’s scary food that might kill you is the dreaded pistachio.

The Food and Drug Administration and the California Department of Health are investigating Setton Pistachio in Terra Bella, Calif after Kraft Foods discovered their Back to Nature trail mix was tainted with salmonella and traced that contamination to their supplier, Setton. Kraft has issued a recall along with Costco and Sunkist. But after living through the last ten salmonella outbreaks whose origins the FDA can never actually pinpoint , we may as well just accept the fact that all our produce is potentially a disease-laden tool for germ warfare. Happy Cesar Chavez day!

Pistachios sound good right now, but I dont want to die. So that sucks. I’m hungry

  2. Right? these salmonella warnings are the governmental equivalent of someone telling you not to think about a purple elephant.
