We all know cows are sacred, but did you know their urine makes a delicious and healthful drink? Folks in India plan to educate the world with the creation of a new soda made with Gau Jal or Cow Water. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, India's leading Hindu cultural group, developed the soda and a spokesman for the company full predicts it will outsell Coke or Pepsi with its health benefits that practically sell themselves.
Both cow urine and dung are traditionally sold in some Indian states right next to milk and yogurt. Not to mention, they're featured in all kinds of products from porridge to toothpaste and in tonic drinks that claim to cure everything from liver complaints to diabetes and cancer. They're also used in products that disinfect and clean household surfaces and floors. Which, you know, is not that different from Coke or Pepsi.
The soda does not have a release date yet, as its in the process of getting approval from the Indian equivalent of the FDA, but creators are hopeful it will be out by July. Here's hoping!
