Media reporting tends to be somewhat symbiotic. This topic probably was first written about in the Mexican media before the NYT picked it up. The power of the NYT is its ability to recognize a "good" story,  do a through job reporting on such issues and then bring it to our attention. Credit is due, I think, all around.</description>
