Texas School Secretary Geneva Cardenas Resigns Amidst Prostitution Charges

Proving that money is tight all over, a secretary named Geneva Cardenas, who works for the office of guidance and counseling at the Brownsville Independent School District in Texas, has resigned after police arrested her on charges of prostitution and possession of marijuana Friday. Geneva Cardenas, 34, was busted in a Craigslist sting on Friday afternoon after allegedly placing an ad for sexual services on the website. She was also in possession of less than two ounces of pot during a meeting at a local hotel where undercover authorities got her to accept payment for sexual favors. Cardenas has been employed by BISD for over 12 years, but handed in her resignation this morning after posting $3000 bail–$1500 for the prostitution charge and $1500 for possession. We will refrain from making the obvious career advice joke here.
