The Dr. Jeff Steinberg Baby Color Poll Results: The National Geographic Girl Wins

Tuesday we polled you on what kind of baby you’d request from Dr. Jeff Steinberg, the famous fertility doctor who says that, in six months, he’ll be able to create a baby with the eye, hair and skin color of your choosing. Well, the results are in and it seems most of you want your baby to look like the National Geographic Afghan girl. The details break down like so:

The results on gender were neck and neck, but girls eeked out over boys amongst Guanabee’s readers. Obviously.

You overwhelmingly want an olive-skin child. Which is very diplomatic of you. A hundred years ago, a person who tans easily would be seen as someone who works with their hands–and not in a good way. But today it’s a sign of good health and an indication that a person has the means to frolic in Brazil with a model half their age. Then again, a lot of Brazilian modelizers are lily white, a color that scored a distant second. Brown and black, as in the real world, got the shaft.

When it comes to eye-color, you people are totally Euro-centric. Green just barely edged out blue with hazel and brown competing closely for third.

Brown hair, which came in first, has to be the most common color in the world. Well, unless you count Asia, but hardly anyone lives over there, right? Black hair beat out blonde and red heads, as usual, can’t win.

We purposely gave you a very black and white (heh) decision between straight and curly hair just to see where you guys stand. While you are closely divided, straight hair ultimately won. Just like in a Spike Lee movie.
