Will Latinos Migrate To The Fox Nation?
30 March 2009, 3:30 PM. By Cindy Casares
Today Fox News launches its new website The Fox Nation, described as a place where Americans can participate in fair and balanced political discussion as opposed to the liberally biased online news outlets whose traffic has historically pummeled Fox News.
The Washington Post reports that while MSNBC.com received 41 million unique visitors in the month of February this year and CNN.com received 36 million, FoxNews.com trailed with 14 million readers. Maybe conservatives don’t read? Just a theory.
So, with The Fox Nation funneling traffic into FoxNews, will the site be a kinder, gentler conservative’s homepage and will conservative Latinos (perhaps a redundant term) follow them like ehsheep? Despite the political coverage of the past year which reported that Latinos have made their way back to the Democratic party after feeling they were betrayed by the deluge of anti-Latino/anti-immigrant sentiment that was the Republican party’s platform, CNN’s Anderson Cooper once again opened up the debate last night about whether or not Latinos will find a home in the party that very well matches their traditionally conservative beliefs. Since Republicans are scrambling to recover from a dismal election season, it’s quite possible that The FOX Nation will meet Latinos who hate gays and really don’t want to pay taxes somewhere in the middle. Coincidentally, SiTV aired an episode recently of Breakfast Lunch and Dinner, their political roundtable show, that discusses the Republican Latino quandary in easily digestable soundbites that lead nowhere. Here’s a clip.

For our money, arguments like public school has nothing to do with the government always make conservatives sound like idiots. But what do you guys think? Is a Latino a sell-out if he or she reads The Fox Nation and votes Republican? And now, enough presenting a fair and balanced discussion. Let’s get back to our regularly scheduled teenaged abortions and pregnant men.

I think any latino who feels at home in the Republican party must be delusional. Sure the conservative values of some may align but the Right is not as color blind as they claim to be. Just ask Michael Steele who still has has the taste of Limbaugh’s ass in his mouth.
Sell-out, no. Misguided, maybe.
Minorities who vote for Republicans make no sense to me.
I was under the impression Cubans were generally Republican-leaning, afraid of us wacky liberals and our socialist ideals.
I don’t understand minorities who vote Republican either, but Gray’s Anatomy is still on the air so it’s anyone’s guess!
