Demi Moore And Twitter Save San Jose Woman From Suicide

Demi Moore, when not busy with her myriad movie offers, is inadvertently helping to save people’s lives through Twitter. Moore’s response to a Tweet about a suicide plan prompted her online followers to take action.

A woman who goes by the handle SandieGuy wrote: 

getting a knife, a big one that is sharp. Going to cut my arm down the whole arm so it doesn’t waste time

Demi retweeted the woman’s posting and added: “Hope you are joking.” Demi’s followers decided to assume she was not and alerted San Jose police. Authorities were able to track down the woman’s location and and took her in for an evaluation. Wrote one total nerd:

the twitterverse is on the case just called silicon valley pd to report this woman many others had called. fingers crossed

Demi decided to respond to the situation and wrote:

Thanks everyone for reaching out to the San Jose PD i am told they are aware and no need to call anymore. I do not know this woman. I am inspired by the enormous response of humanity here and thank you… It is my understanding that the situation was not a joke and that through the collective efforts here action was taken to provide help!

Aw, Demi! This almost make up for the fact that you willingly starred in a movie with Kevin Costner and Dane Cook.
