Farrah Fawcett Hospitalized As Cancer Worsens

Farrah Fawcett has reportedly been in the hospital in the Los Angeles area in critical but stable condition since Thursday after undergoing stem-cell treatment in Germany. Her family told Radaronline that she is unconscious.

The 62 year-old actress was first diagnosed with anal cancer in 2006, but was pronounced in remission in March of 2007. Three months later, doctors found a small malignant polyp in the same area. She has since undergone a number of experimental treatments.

“Throughout the journey of my life, I have maintained a strong faith in the power of the human spirit to overcome adversity. I deeply believe in one’s own positive will to overcome even the most daunting challenges,” She said in October 2006 when she was first diagnosed. Fawcett also has a lawsuit in the works against the Enquirer who quoted her as begging to be allowed to die since her diagnosis.

Fawcett’s longtime companion Ryan O’Neal and their son Redmond, who made the news for escaping rehab earlier this week, are by her side.
