Ja Rule Lends His Growls To Brazil’s Wanessa

Most likely you’ll be hearing more about this Wanessa young lady (pronounced Vanessa–it’s Portuguese) who is one of Brazil’s biggest pop stars. She’s just done a duet with Ja Rule so all that’s left is for her to set someone’s house on fire in Atlanta and she’s official American gold.
Wanessa Camargo is the daughter of Brazilian country singer (yes, they have those) Zezé Di Camargo from the duo Zezé Di Camargo & Luciano. Oh, him. She’s already like the Shakira of Brazil with her various #1 hits and her many philanthropic efforts. Now she seems to be dipping her toe into the English-speaking world with this new single “Fly,” which is the only English-language single off an album that she’s promoting in Mexico. The single is kind of Mariah Carey sounding and Ja Rule couldn’t look more bored in the video (below.) You could literally put most of his lines (and all of his moves) in any other contemporary female performer’s song and it would all amount to the same thing.
