Hola Payasas: La Perrucha Is Here

Not everything that comes out of Juarez is deadly–in a bad way. Meet La Perrucha. By his (her?) own description: A diva, a queen, a goddess. And with his insidious new cumbia, a charttopper, as well. This flamboyant young man from Northern Mexico whose real name is Armando González has received over 120 video tributes to his original hit “La Cumbia De La Perrucha,” on YouTube and will likely have a few more before the week is out thanks to his appearance on El Gordo Y La Flaca.
Besides being a musical artist, La Perrucha has a radio show in Juarez where he gives advice to women using his “joterias” (his words) and co-stars on a local, low-budge, TV, comedy sketch show called, La Tijerazo that pretty much offends everyone, so, we’re not 100% sure he’s actually gay. Which kind of makes us a little afraid to say how much we like the song. It is catchy.
On El Gordo Y La Flaca today, he announced, amongst other royal decrees, that his next track will be a re-GAY-ton. ¡Perea!
We like. Y tu?

I think I have a new favorite song.
is he flipping words like “joterias” into a positive or is he promoting a stereotype? Love the song though!
