Swedes Build 6-Foot Lego Jesus For Easter

To commemorate the sacred anniversary of Christ’s resurrection, one Swedish church built a giant Jesus out of Legos. As Moses said, “Leggo my people.”
The gleaming white statue is made out of 30,000 legos and stands almost six feet tall- which is of course inaccurate, as we now know Jesus was at least ten feet tall, and black.
But the members of Protestant church of Onsta Gryta in Vasteras, Sweden, are pretty dang pleased with themselves. As they should be, since it took forty of them working together nonstop for eighteen months to complete the statue. The church spokesman, Per Wilder, says that the statue was modeled off this statue, “Christus,” made by 18th century Danish sculptor Bertel Thorvaldsen:

We totally see it! The Lego statue has it’s own special surprise though, as the interior, unseen portion is actually made of multi-colored Legos. All the blocks were donated but only white ones were used for the external part of the statue- any colored blocks were used just for the interior part. Awww, Jesus got a rainbow in his heart.
10 out of 10, Swedish church, but you guys still got a lot of work to do before you’re nearly as cool as the Lego-Bible guys. Keep at it!
