Rando: Meghan McCain Recommends Girl In A Coma

Meghan McCain, the 24 year-old, Republican blogger grrrl and Daily Beast contributer who would be a Democrat were it not for her pesky dad John, has recommended partially-lesbian, Texican, “bar brawling” Girl In A Coma, our Girl In A Coma, to her many legions of fans.
On her blog, McCainBloggette, Meghan had this to say about what’s on her iTunes.
I am OBSESSED with this band “Girl in a Coma” and the song “Their Cell” is one of the most melodically beautiful songs I have heard in a long time. The lead singer’s voice will captivate you like it has me!
And again on The Daily Beast, she gave them a push:
I recommend the band Girl in a Coma. This San Antonio-based band is made up of sisters Nina and Phanie Diaz and bassist Jenn Alva. I am absolutely in love with their album Both Before I’m Gone, my favorite songs are Mr. Chivalry and Their Cell. Their music is both beautifully melodic and rock infused all at the same time. Their new album drops June 2nd and I’m sure they will soon be a household name!
“Beautifully melodic and rock infused all at the same time.” Perhaps how Meghan sees herself? Earlier this month at the Republican Log Cabin convention, she caused a ruckus amongst her party when she described herself thusly:
I’m concerned about the environment. I love to wear black. I think government is best when it stays out of people’s lives and business as much as possible. I love punk rock. I believe in a strong national defense. I have a tattoo. I believe government should always be efficient and accountable. I have lots of gay friends. And yes, I am a Republican.
Meghan registered as an Independent when she was 18, but then daddy made her get serious last fall and she switched over to his team in October of 2008. We’ll check back with her in five years to see whether she’s managed to come out of his shadow or if she’s succumbed to her inheritance. In the meantime, beware the confused, bi-curious, fratty tools sure to be showing up at a GIAC show near you.
For their part, Girl In A Coma’s manager, in an email response to the news, had this to say:
Girl in a Coma are happy to have the support from all of their fans from all over America and the rest of the world.
