obama-calderon_4_15_09Tomorrow Barack Obama is headed to Mexico to meet with President Vicente Felipe Calderon for one day. What will they talk about besides the Burger King Texican Whopper debacle? Easy to digest political talking points to get you laid at any party are after the jump.

    Co-Responsibility

The Obama administration admitted last month that this country is just as much to blame for the rise in power of illegal Mexican drug cartels as Mexico. Now they want Mexico to admit they are just as responsible for illegal immigration into the United States. Come to Jesus, everybody.

    Illegal arms sales

Calderon has asked the Obama administration to reinstate a ban on automatic assault weapons which comprise 90% of arms for the illegal drug trade in Mexico. Obama’s people say Mexico needs to enforce the laws already on the books. So, like, see bullet point #1?

    Cuba

Mexico is willing to be an intermediary between Washington and Havana. Lucy, we’re ho-ome.

    The economy

Having learned from their bank collapse in the 90’s, Mexico never bought into sub-prime loans. Now we’re starting to pull them into the recession. International trade war issues, such as long debated trucking policies enacted by Bush, will likely be discussed. Bring riot masks.

MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell sat down with Calderon in Mexico City today to get his expectations for the visit. Video is below.
