Oscar De La Hoya Announces Retirement From Boxing
14 April 2009, 7:05 PM. By Cindy Casares
A very sad Oscar De La Hoya took the stage at a press conference this afternoon in Los Angeles to announce that he is not going to box anymore. “Now I understand why athletes have such a tough time retiring,” he said explaining that he never wants to step in the ring and disappoint his fans again. IE, he’s old and sucks now.
The Golden Boy from East L.A. who defeated 17 world champions and won 10 world titles in six different weight classes is also known for generating more money than any other boxer in the history of the sport. But around here, we’ll always think of him as Goldie.

In his retirement i hope he doesn’t make any more music.
He should have retired before his last fight. Anyway, I’ll miss him.
This is sad. I didn’t cry when he lost his fight - I bawled for days drank lots of tequila.
