Salma Hayek’s Venetian Wedding Was Full Of Stars, Dirty Canal Water

salma_wedding_42709Salma Hayek got married to François-Henri Pinault (again) in Venice over the weekend and the couple had lots of high profile guests on hand to help them celebrate. And David Blaine. Sadly, neither Charo nor Ramtha decided to make an appearance, but we’re sure they mailed awesome bridal gifts. Maybe a George Forman grill?

The ceremony took place at La Fenice theater in Venice Saturday. Guests attended a masquerade ball-themed rehearsal dinner the Fright before at the famous Punta Della Dogana, arriving via boat along Venice’s canals. Romantic, until you start to think about how terrible those canals smell. The structure was leased from the city by Pinault’s father and is set to open to the public on June 6 as the “Pinault Foundation Centre for Contemporary Art” following a $70 million renovation. It’s nice to be a Pinault.

Salma wore a Balenciaga gown and carried a bouquet of orchids and stephanotis dotted with crystals. Her daughter, Valentina, acted as flower girl in the bridal procession accompanied by François-Henri’s two children from a previous marriage - François, 10 and Mathilde, 8.

Guests celebrated / terrified the couple by singing “Over the Rainbow.”

So. What do we think of Salma’s dress? We’re channeling Ramtha and he says he gives it two snaps in Z formation.

  1. I first read that as “dirty anal water” and was dismayed on Salma’s behalf.

  2. damn salma hayek for stealing all of my childhood wedding fantasies…including the insanely rich french older man and daughter that talks to ghosts in three different languages…xcept in my dreams i had gloria trevi singing (pre-cult) and a cake that looked like a zapato viejo…
