Sandra Cantu Found Dead In Suitcase In Tracy, CA

The body of eight year-old Sandra Cantu of Tracy, California, who was missing for ten days, was found stuffed inside a suitcase in an irrigation pond a few miles from her trailer park home, ending a massive search that included hundreds of volunteers.
Sandra’s body was dressed in the same clothes she had on when she went missing on March 27, 2009–a pink Hello Kitty t-shirt and black leggings. Police are performing an autopsy today to determine cause of death and Tracy Police Chief Janet Thiessen, in a statement to the press, promised to find the person or persons responsible and, “bring them to justice.”
Police have surveillance video, taken from a camera recently installed by her grandfather, of Sandra leaving her mobile home and heading toward a neighbor’s home, away from the only exit in the Orchard Estates Mobile Home Park where she lived. They also questioned a 59 year-old male neighbor who admitted to kissing Sandra on the mouth two years ago at a pool.
Tracy’s aunt says she was an outgoing girl who made friends easily. More on this case as it develops.
