Zenaida Gonzalez Suing Casey Anthony For Defamation

Zenaida Gonzalez is a woman living in Central Florida who happens to bear the name given by murder suspect Casey Anthony in the case of her murdered daughter Caley. Zenaida is suing Casey for defamation.  

When two year-old Caley turned up missing last summer, Casey told police she left Caley with a babysitter named Zenaida Gonzalez in June of 2008 even though she didn’t report her missing until July. To this day, no evidence has been found to substantiate the existence of such a nanny, but this real Zenaida Gonzalez, who says she never met the Anthonys, is suing Casey for defamation because she lost her job and reputation thanks to Caley’s highly publicized case. (Could these names be any more confusing? Fuck, people.)

Now, the state has phone records that show, despite Casey Anthony being an avid phone and text user, there are no phone records between anyone named Zenaida Gonzales and Casey Anthony. So, did Casey Anthony just pick the name Zenaida Gonzales thinking it’s too weird for any real Zenaidas to exist?

Casey’s parents were questioned by Zenaida Gonzalez’s attorney during the civil trial yesterday and her parents revealed that they never met the alleged nanny who Casey says was nicknamed Zaney. It was these same parents who first alerted police to the missing child back in July when Casey’s mother called to say she hadn’t seen her granddaughter in a month and her daughter’s car, “smelled like death.”

Is this a case of a white lady picking an imaginary minority to pin her crime on? So far, Casey Anthony is the state’s number one suspect in the murder case of her daughter Caley because along with lying about everything she told the police in interviews and having pictures surface of her partying after Caley disappeared, Caley’s hair was found in the trunk of Casey’s car.
