briant_rodriguez Remember three year-old (precious!) Briant Rodriguez who was kidnapped from his home two weeks ago in San Bernadino, Califonia after his family was tied up and robbed by intruders? He was found  wandering the streets of Mexicali Thursday night, by himself, in a residential neighborhood. A local policeman picked him up and he was reunited with his mother Saturday night in Calexico, California, in good shape, but sans the lustrous locks he once sported. Which is a tragedy in its own right.

San Bernardino Sheriff’s officials told the press that they are closing in on two suspects recorded on security cameras purchasing supplies they believe were used to tie up Briant’s family while robbing them and abducting Briant. Although Briant’s mother, Maria Rosalina Millan, is from Mexico, investigators do not believe the family knew Briant’s abductors or had any relation to them. Nor have they established any motive for his kidnapping. They are working on several theories, though, including the fact that the kidnappers are from Mexico and could have ties to organized crime there, although no ransom was ever demanded. Is this the first case of Mexican narcowars spilling over to innocent, American bystanders? Are his parents involved in something sinister? All difficult questions to answer at this point, but we will be keeping an eye on this case as it develops.

pobre cito. I’m glad he’s home now and I pray that his parents are not involved in something sinister that caused this.
