What Miss California Carrie Prejean Can Learn From Latinas On Handling Her Topless Photo Scandal

Miss California Carrie Prejean - the beauty queen who rocketed to internet memedom after voicing her support for “opposite marriage” after pageant judge Perez Hilton tried to attack her with his big, mean, gay face - is now defending another hallmark of Christian faith: Topless photos. A photo of Prejean dressed in nothing but a smile and pink underwear are making the rounds, along with rumors that they are more - and more explicit - photos where that came from.

Here’s the statement released by Carrie on the matter:

On April 19, I chose to answer a question during the 2009 Miss USA pageant in an honest and personal manner that expressed my views of the long-established definition of marriage as being between a man and a woman. That answer, and my commitment to stand by my beliefs, has since resulted in attacks on me and my integrity as a woman. We live in a great country; a nation that was built on freedom of speech and freedom of religion. Yet my comments defending traditional marriage have led to intimidation tactics that seek to undermine my reputation and somehow silence me and my beliefs, as if opinion is only a one-way street.

I am a Christian, and I am a model. Models pose for pictures, including lingerie and swimwear photos. Recently, photos taken of me as a teenager have been released surreptitiously to a tabloid Web site that openly mocks me for my Christian faith. I am not perfect, and I will never claim to be. But these attacks on me and others who speak in defense of traditional marriage are intolerant and offensive. While we may not agree on every issue, we should show respect for others’ opinions and not try to silence them through vicious and mean-spirited attacks.

With that in mind, I will continue to support and defend marriage as the honorable institution it is. I will continue to stand with the overwhelming majority of the American people and the voters of my home state of California. If this whole experience has taught me anything, it is our precious right to speak freely, and how we as Americans can never allow anyone or any group to intimidate or threaten us to keep silent.

Oh shiiiiit, it’s the gay mafia at work! Personally, we don’t buy that these are modeling photos. Especially since the photo appears to have been taken by Carrie herself in the mirror of a bathroom:

Do most modeling shoots require one to take one’s own photos while posing next to a bottle of moisturizer? If so, then we are totally on our way to becoming the next Kate Moss.

While Carrie does seem to be in a bit of a pickle, she can take comfort in the fact that she’s in good company. Plenty of famousish Latinas have also been discovered to be lying, horny hypocrites. Let’s see how they handled their scandals, and what Carrie can learn from them:

I would never express myself sexually of my own volition!” When rumors first circulated that Belinda had made a video that was not quite PG, she denied its existence while adding that she was very much a virgin. But, see, even virgins can get topless on webcam.

When her now infamous sex tape first leaked, her grandmother attempted to explain it by alleging Noelia had been abused. Then she said people were only releasing her (multiple) videos in order to get people to boycott her illustrious singing career. She could not have possibly made a sex tape because 1) she wanted to have sex , 2) she is such a comemierda that she wants to be able to see herself having sex over and over, or 3) she’s gullible and kind of dumb.
