Clare Werbeloff Teaches Us That Xenophobia Pays, At Least For 15 Minutes

Clare Werbeloff is currently enjoying her 15 minutes of fame in Australia after describing a shooting to the local news. Clare described the people involved as “wogs” - in Australia, this is an ethnic slur against people of Southern and Eastern European origins. In England, the term refers to dark-skinned people from Africa and Asia and likely comes from Golliwog dolls - old-fashioned toys based on black caricatures.
Anyway. Behold the moment someone with no class discovers that people love a trainwreck. Whatever you do, don’t hassle the ‘Loff:
Nineteen-year-old Clare, who has been labled a “westie bogan” by some Australian internet commenters, has hired a publicist to help deal with her newfound fame, and has even inspired a line of t-shirts. Basically, she’s made it. You can follow her climb to fame via Twitter, should you so choose. We guess there are worse people to follow.
What’s obvious here is that Miley totally marketed her “Asian eyes” PR debacle in entirely the wrong way. Market. Your. Stupidity. If Miley had been smart about it, 14-year-old Long Island mallgirls would be wearing “She’s Just Being Miley!” emblazoned across their velour hotpants.
Racist Fan Guy would have marketed the shit out of his innovative t-shirt design if he hadn’t been so busy making sure his head was firmly ensconced within his rectum.
And Heidi and Seal? The word does need a par of utterly inane themed vow renewal ceremony planners.

you’re not Australian, obviously. The term wog’ ceased to be offensive in our country long ago. ‘wog’ is about as offensive as calling a homosexual person ‘gay’ or ‘queer’, ie the southern european comunity have embraced the term and in doing so have used it so frequently in the media to describe themselves that it just has no power anymore. Do your research, and talk to some Aussies before posting your ill informed opinions here.
Yeah, wog is a term for Italian or Greeks. It is not derogitory in any way, it’s just a description. Like a NZer is called a Kiwi, or an American is called a Yank.

Im Australian with a european background and I find the term ” wog ” offensive, I suppose the above guests would not see any problem in calling an asian person ” gook ” or a black person ” nigger ” .
Don’t conflate the phenomenon of ‘phobia’ with the natural feeling of disgust many australians feel at these immigrants bringing their gunfights to our streets. I’m not ‘afraid’ of the immigrant’s violence, I’m disgusted by it. I’m glad Clare made light of a serious plague on our society, that of violent immigrants. Fuck this blog.

You yanks have had it as a society. You collectively need a nice cup of ‘HARDEN THE *&^% UP!’. You’re all so whipped and afraid of offending anyone that you’ve collectively lost the ability to think. You have freedom of speech, but as you’d say, ‘it don’t matter none’, because your society has become so self-censoring that freedom of speech is not worth much anymore.

And as far as Clare Werbeloff is concerned: Why shouldn’t someone get some comic relief from the nightmare of sneering, gun-toting “wogs” swarming formerly European communities? The “phobia” is quite justified. If you study her interviews, she is quite gracious and full of poise. I know you goyllibles hate the fact that she hoaxed your precious media. Better go tune in to some CNN to get a grip on things…
But don’t worry, someone will file “Hate” charges against her soon enough and put her in her place.
Oh, and by the way, did you hear what the “wogs” were arguing about? It’s come out that they were deeply concerned about the bowdlerizing of Shakespeare in the secondary schools and things just got a little out of hand.
