Greidys Gil Crowned Nuestra Belleza Latina 2009

The Nuestra Belleza Latina competition for 2009 wrapped up this weekend with Cuban-born contestant Greidys Gil taking the top prize. Univision is quick to point out that this is the first pageant title won by Cuba in 40 years - regardless of whether Greidys was representing the island in any official capacity. (Note: She wasn’t.)
Greidys, you might recall, had also won a spot on this year’s list of People en Español’s “Los 50 Mas Bellos.” She’s reached Pee Wee levels of fame already, people.
What an honor, no? This pageant seems like something any woman with a healthy sense of self-loathing would want to win:
One by one, the show’s experts touched upon the advancements the participants had made since the pageant’s beginning. Jose Fernandez [the show's nutritionist] admitted that all the women participating had high percentages of body fat when they first started, but he acknowledged the effort each woman demonstrated in rising throughout the competition.
Oh, good.

Mexicans listen up! I’m not going to call you “Indians”, because Indians are people that are from India the country. Alejandra won on the first season of Nuestra Belleza Latina not because she was pretty, NO, NO, NO! She won because there are more than 15 million Mexican in United States. Come on! It was obvious to everybody that she won because of that. Greidys Gil on the other hand, won clean and clear because the more than one million Cubans in United States decided to come together and vote for her. Also, the judges used the strategy of leaving 3 Mexican finalists to divide the Mexican vote, or else ugly Mexicans will be winning all the contests. And the judges and the viewers (that are not Mexican) would have stopped watching the show. In other words, it is true Mexican win contests, because of the many uneducated disgusting Mexicans that live in this country. Now, when it comes to contests in which people have to use their brains or play sports, we Cubans ROCK.
Now, let’s talk about Castro for those Mexican that do not know what are they are talking about. At least Fidel Castro has made sure that we all Cubans get a good education, and that we are literate. So, don’t talk bull shit about him, because he is way better than any of the Mexican presidents your country has had so far. Your country is corrupt and disgusting in every existing ways. We are better than you Mexicans and your uncivilized society. So respect Cubans because at least we are representing the Latin American community in a educated manner.
