It’s A Boy For Knocked Up U.S. Rep. Linda Sanchez! (And We Really Like This Woman)

Congratulations are in order for U.S. Congresswoman Linda Sanchez, (D-California), who had a baby boy today–and just barely got married in time, sucia! Sanchez first announced her pregnancy last November when she was just a single gal. Her babydaddy, Jim “Sully” Sullivan, (he sure did “sully” her good name, yuk, yuk), is a consultant from Connecticut who married her just a few weeks ago. Talk about cutting that shit close, girl. 

But it turns out being the first knocked up, single U.S. Congresswoman in history isn’t the only thing that makes Sanchez kind of bad ass. She also does a mean stand-up routine and won the title of “Funniest Celebrity in Washington” in 2006. In fact, it was her lack of sex-having back then that formed her best material:

I know the pain of the U.S. Soccer team. I know what it’s like to only score twice in four years!

No wonder she kept that baby. Linda went on to perform at a sold-out  Warner Theater during the annual “Reyes of Comedy Night,” a show featuring professional comics and sponsored by the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute. Sanchez was the only member of Congress funny enough–or ballsy enough–to do so. (Well, except Tom Tancredo, but he was Anglo that day.) Once again, Sanchez regaled them with her tales of dating woe.

It seems like the only men I meet these days are men in airports. Heck, I remember when men used to check me out because they thought I was cute! Now they do it because they think I’m a security threat.

Still, I don’t think it’s so wrong to line my bra with tinfoil for a little extra attention.

But personally, it’s her bi-partisan humor we like the best:

Republicans “make love like they make war: They lie to get in, and they don’t know what to do when they get there.”

Rim shot! Here’s hoping little Joaquin Sanchez Sullivan inherits some of his mom’s talent.
