Odio A Shakira!: Shakira Is One Of The Most Hated Celebrities On The Internet (Again). Surely We Can Find Someone Better…

Last year, we helpfully informed you that Shakira was among the most hated celebrities on the internet. It would seem that people haven’t gotten over whatever been the have with the Colombian singer, because she’s on that list once again, along with fellow list veterans Luis Miguel, Jennifer Lopez and Ricky Martin.
A search for “odio a Shakira” brought up 197,000 hits for us. Yikes! However, a search for “amo Shakira” brought up something around 2,050,000 hits. So there. A search for “I hate Guababee,” in case you were wondering, brought up a picture of renowned thespian Roselyn Sanchez with the caption “I hate it when guests urinate all over the table.” And “I love Guanabee” brought up some nice comments someone had made on their MySpace. (We love you too. In that way.)
Anyway, it pains us to think that Shakira is hated by creepy strangers on the intertubes. Especially when there are so many more worthy subjects of hate. Like, since you asked:
1. Gael Garcia Bernal
"Is this a boot? A film? I cannot tell you. I WILL NOT tell you."
That Paper interview really got to us. Really.
2. The Nasonex Bee
"I will give you hives. Sexy, sexy hives. Get it, mi tesoro? My jokes, they make you laugh."
There is nothing more annoying than a horny bee, voiced by Antiono Banderas no less, who gets flirtatious with you while your allergies are acting up.
3. Rebekah
"Waaaaa."
Just kidding. We love Rebekah. Where did she go?
4. Wisin and/or Yandel
"Grunt grunt. Grunt? Grunt! Fart. Grunt, grunt."
5. Yolanda Saldivar
"You're gonna hate on Shakira more than on me? Seriously?"

This don’t make no sense. I adore Shakira (almost as much as I adore Alex Alvarez), and I’m on the internet all day long. That said, I’m not gonna start hating on Gael just because he has some fakeass boot philosophy.

i agree w/ wisin y yandel…and yolandas actions are what changed my 5 year old self awareness of reality because at that point i thought selena was not an actual living person…
A few years back, I remember watching a special about Shakira–it was essentially a collection of interviews. At one point, Shakira mentioned that some people confuse her with Britney Spears. She seemed tickled by the idea (she was a little too happy about the comparison, if you ask me). I liked the old Shakira. I despise the new post-Miami Shakira (blonde & over sexualized). The woman is a walking stereotype–and that’s one big reason she got so much attention in the U.S. Seriously, she dresses and looks like a whore most of the time, which doesn’t seem to bother the average American consumer because they assume most Latinas look and act that way. But when a “White American” dresses and acts that way, they’re torn to pieces by blogs and society at large. It’s like the average “White” woman is held to a higher standard. And it’s so sad that Latinas aren’t taken seriously because of people like Shakira. And it’s strange that Alex, of all people, would defend her.
Oh, I am most definitely put off by Shakira’s Generic Pop Starlet incarnation, but I don’t find her hateful for it. Whenever I read about her, which is not often, she’s usually busy with some charitable cause. And if she wants to do that while blonde and in leather, so be it.

Whatevs… people are just angry and jealous. She doesn’t even begin to compare to the level of “whoreishness” that is Britney, etc - especially if you have been to her concerts, you would see that she was pretty covered up compared to, say, Mariah Carey.
I too loved the Old Shakira more, but I honestly think that people are threatened by the fact that she is upfront and honest about her sexuality, instead of playing the Britney/Jessica Simpson “virgin” card while dressing and behaving in a way that suggests otherwise. After all, when has there EVER been a Shakira upskirt shot in the tabloids?
