thumb-picture-2-1311Well, it looks as if Padre Alberto Cutié has decided to legitimize his blasphemous abortion of a love affair with shady lady Ruhama Canellis. The two are engaged after two years of rubbing their chochas against one another while baby Jesus wept into the Pope's little hat.  Cutié has also decided that the Catholic Church is not for him, so he's up and quitting that bitch and moving on to the Episcopal Church, which'll take pretty much anyone, even the boyfriends of bloggers.  Alberto and Ruhama officially became Episcopalians in a small ceremony held earlier today at Trinity Cathedral in downtown Miami. Bishop Leo Frade, head of the Episcopal Diocese of Southeast Florida, officiated the ceremony while the Virgin Mary gave them all the side-eye. Bishop Frade had previously told the press that he had been "talking" with Cutié in the days following his photo scandal. Frade says this sort of switching over is quite common:
This doesn't say anything less of our sister church. We have many Episcopal priests that have left the Episcopal church because they disagree with the ordination of women, and we have many Catholics that have joined our church. The road between Rome and Canterbury gets lots of traffic.
So does the road between Cutié's pulpit and his bedroom.

At issue here will be the consecration of the communion part of the Mass which Episcopalians refer to as "rememberance" only. As a priest ordained for life which will he be performing?

Mira, gente! The Bible according to JESUS never says ANYthing about a priest must be celibate. That is all St. Paul,s remarks--check out your scripture and all you Catholic sisters and brothers stop taking the Vatican's edits as GOSPEL. That was decided by a pope, who although is in apostolic succesion, --JESUS is the higher authority..While the Episcopal church is WRONG about a ALOT of stuff ( gay clergy ,ie) there is no mandate from Jesus that a priest should be celibate.Paul had a wife woh was the "thorn in his side" so scholars say--and in those days, a traveling preacher of the gospel could not take care of a family and spread the gospel because they traveled around, depending on handouts and god's help to survive. HOWEVER--Paul DOES say " It is better to marry than to burn" and suggests celibacy is the best way to serve God alone. WHERE does the Catholic church get this from? Some pope-- Gregory I? So lighten up on Father Cutie--I hope he comes to my church-we'd LOVE hiim!

well Guest. Jesus never married. He had nothing good to say about marriage. He said there is no marriage in heaven. He said celibacy was for the sake of the Kingdom of Heaven. So where do you get the idea that Jesus was for married priests? May I suggest you actually read the bible?

guest was correct in that the problem with marriage was with Paul and not Jesus. People do need to read their Bible but also heed the words about "judging others lest ye be judged..."

Let me clarify a couple of things. As "guest" previously mentioned, it was St. Paul who stated that if one remains celibate, you will have no worldly distractions, while someone who is married will have distractions from God. St. Paul later says that if you marry you will have a good life, however, if you remain celibate you will have an even "better" life. Now what did Jesus have to say on the matter? In the Gospel of John, Jesus does say that not everyone can remain celibate, but only those that God has chosen. Finally, the Catholic Church has many rites. Few are informed that there ARE married Priests in the Catholic Church and is perfectly acceptable, however, this is only done in the Eastern Rites, and not in the Latin Rites, which is the most common rite in the western world.

Amen to not judging! But as I stated above in my reply to "guest" re: St. Peter, Jesus does mention that God has chosen some to remain celibate. The question is who are these men... perhaps men with vocations, like priests?

Btw, I have to mention one more thing. The Word of God was revealed in two forms: oral and written traditions. First came the oral tradition, then the written tradition (what came to be known as the New Testament.) So, when you say to "stop taking the Vatican as Gospel", you are mistaken, because we must, as true and full Christians! The Bible (written tradition) AND the Church (oral tradition) go hand-in-hand. You cannot pit one against the other. Christ promised that the Holy Spirit would guide his Church, and not even the gates of hell will prevail against his Church. According to Paul, "the pillar and foundation of Truth" is the Church (not scripture). Don't underestimate the authority of the Church. Were you aware that there wasn't a New Testament until the 4th Century? How do you think the early Christians worshipped God? They listened to the Bishops, who had Apostolic Succession. Some of these were direct disciples of the apostles. I suggest you read Ignatius, Polycarp, Irenaeus, Justin Martyr, Clement...
