Vanessa Williams Says Her Naked Photo Sitch Was Totally Different From Carrie Prejean’s Naked Photo Sitch

Vanessa Williams is trying really hard to forget that she got her start in the public eye the same skanky way that Carrie Prejean has–through a beauty pageant and some nudie photos. On yesterday’s Larry King Live, Williams was asked whether the current nude photo scandal plaguing (and, let’s face it, helping) Carrie Prejean, the homophobic Miss California USA engaged in a media battle with Perez Hilton, brought back painful memories for her. To which Vanessa replied “Not at all.” Because Miss USA is a “whole different system.” (Read: It’s a poor man’s Miss America. Reeowr.)
Williams went on to say that while Prejean is just starting her year as Miss California USA, she had already almost finished her tour of duty when her nude photos were unearthed. Uh, yeah, except you forget we were there, too, Miss America. And we know that your naked photos were the biggest media scandal of the year because it was the first time such a thing had ever happened AND you were the first black Miss America. Those photos got published in Penthouse and launched your singing career. No other former Miss America has ever crossed into entertainment so successfully.

Williams also went on to tell Larry King that anyone who is a “Miss Anything” will have trouble being taken seriously as an artist. Sounds like someone is engaging in a little self-loathing and regret for the very thing that made her what she is today.
