Alberto Cutié’s Alleged Gay Lover Talks To The Press. Surprise.

You might recall that, earlier this week, a man named José Linares who once worked alongside Alberto Cutié accused him of having carried on a gay affair with a man he called Leonardo. That man is now speaking out. Which is entirely surprising given how shy and private everyone involved in Cutié’s life has been thusfar.

Says Leonardo:

Never would I have thought that Linares would stoop so low as come up with these accusations against Father Cutié and myself. I’m not gay and if I were gay I would not hide it or be ashamed of it because we live in a society where no one is pressured to lie about his sexual orientation. [Ed. note: What society do you live in? Is the weather there nice?] I’m not gay and, obviously, Father Cutié and I never had a relationship of that sort; the accusations are absurd. I was married once and have a beautiful family with my girlfriend and the one year old son with which God has blessed us. The last thing I want is for my family to read these lies about me.

An odd argument: It’s fine to be gay, nothing to be ashamed of. But I would never want my family to read such things about me. Because… they don’t know you? They don’t trust you? They’d believe it? Who knows.

Anyway, we knew gay rumors about Alberto would pop up sooner or later. Now we’ll  just sit back until someone discovers he has a secret, other family. Of all gay children.
