Brazilian Soccer Fans Make “#Chupa, Ashton Kutcher” The #1 Twitter Trend This Weekend

“Chupa, Ashton Kutcher” became the #1 trend on Twitter this weekend when the actor taunted Brazilian soccer fans during the Confederations Cup championship game Sunday that pitted Brazil against the United States. When the U.S. scored it’s second goal, leaving the score at 2-0, America, Ashton tweeted “Gooooooooooooal!” cuz he’s all reappropriating Latino culture like that. This, of course, raised the ire of the many folks in Brazil who, apparently, follow him on Twitter. (Losers.) So when Brazil came back to win 3-2, a campaign to raise “#Chupa, Ashton Kutcher” to the top of the trends list began. And succeeded. Wife Demi Moore even got in on the act tweeting, “Brazilians are going crazy on hubby with this ‘chupa’ thing.” We can just hear her saying that like Ma Kettle. Ashton finally figured out what it meant and succumbed with the nervous laughter of a gringo cornered.
