DO be fabulous.

DO be fabulous.

The Puerto Rican Day Parade is this weekend, peeps!

We’re already crimping and primping in preparation… of leaving to Long Island. But, for those of you who do plan on attending the parade and festivities this Sunday, ask yourselves: Would I rather be a Puerto Rican or a Puerto RiCAN’T?

By keeping a few simple rules in mind as you’re walking through Manhattan in a red, white and blue tanga, you can be sure to make this parade the most stylish one ever. Ay bendito.

DO bring your BFF to join you in the festivities. Spend hours working on one another’s hair and perfecting your poses. Then totally one-up that heffa by pulling on a pair of fishnets right at the last minute.

DON’T bother bringing a purse or some godawful fannypack. Simply be resourceful and make do with what (Dr.) Go(l)d(farb) gave you.

DO forget about being subtle. Save that for the other 364 days of the year.

DON’T be afraid to stand out. Today’s all about you, mami.

DO keep your accessories in mind when planning your outfit, be they a bandana and sexy glasses, or a husband in camo.

Is there some rule for the PR day parade that one must be as tacky as possible?

Why is my mind automatically going to the “Chongalicious” video when I saw those two girls with the white sneakers, hot pants and wifebeaters? Is that wrong of me?

It’s too bad I was raised near real Puritan folks, because I couldn’t even think about pulling some of this off, except maybe the pink suit abuelita is stylin’

Go ‘head, Puerto Rico…pero, pleez, dejalo for the parade!

What about some of the dude’s faux pas? Cause you know our men wear the fabulous mesh wife beater action, too!
