I was in Colombia and working with a kid there who went to get us coffee. When he came back he tried to carry a bag of cups up a ladder. Being such a superior gringo who knew some Spanish, I said “Hey, pendejo.” All the guys laughed but he was so hurt, I didn’t see him the rest of my time there. I was really sorry.

you know, i hear this word tossed around all the time (i always thought it just meant stupid and wondered why it was bleeped on univision/televisa novelas) and now i know what it means im concerned if the people i hear say it know what it means.
