Two More Days To Nominate Your Hot Latino Journalist!

Announcing Guanbee’s Hottest Latino Journalist Cook-Off where you’ll help us decide who the hottest male and female Latino journalists are in the USA. It’s an honor only two smart and sexy Latinos with good grammar skills will walk away with, but to get there, we need your submissions. Entrants must be adults, (18 and older), of Latino/Hispanic descent who are professional journalists, (meaning someone pays them), in any medium: (Television, Radio, Print, Online), and who are currently employed, (freelance or staff), as a journalist in the United States. Real news journalists only, please. Not those tabloid-show booby queens from Univision. (We love them, but come on. No one else would stand a chance.) Hot is defined by your own tastes, but we reserve the right to edit. So! Comb your newspaper, watch the local evening news and email us at tips@guanabee.com or drop your comments right below this story with links to pics of your journalist crushes and tell us why you think they deserve to be Guanabee’s hottest Latino Journalist by June 15 when the tournament-style competition begins. i think the obvious choice is jorge ramos, but he wins enough awards. i nominate carlos guerra, columnist for The San Antonio Express-News because he’s been working to make this country better for Latinos longer than anyone else I can think of who’s still alive.

I vote for Kevin Olivas. He does so much good-doing I feel like a schlub. Plus look at those ojitos and that sweet smile! And he mentored me via email while in college a bit too(asi no cochinos, malpensados!) years ago, just because I entered some essay contest o algo. Maria Leticia Gomez got my blood flowing last night on Channel 14. She’s on Univision, but she’s not a “tabloid-show booby queen.” She’s kinda rocking a vibe like “I’m smarter than you and I’ll boss you around, make you bring me my coffee in the morning and rub my feet before bed.” Yeah, ok, I get down like that.

Portugal is not in Latin America, no. So she’s obviously not a Latina. But as far as I know, she still counts as Hispanic (b’c Portugal is part of Iberia).
No Portugal is considered a Latin country because Portuguese comes from Latin, so does French, Italian, and Spanish. Hispanic only refers to those that speak Spanish, like those in Spain, Mexico, Guatemala, Colombia, Cuba, etc. You get the point.
So, you’re saying that many Europeans can call themselves Latino? Interesting.
Latin is an European language. Who doesn’t know that? What language does the Pope speak? Latin!
This post is about LATINOS in the USA, not European romance languages. Speaking one of the various romance languages doesn’t automatically make one a Latino.
