Kobe Bryant’s Maid Fights To Speak Out, Is Labeled An “Ungrateful Illegal”

Basketball player Kobe Bryant’s maid, Maria Jimenez, has filed papers citing California’s anti-SLAPP statute, which would give Jimenez the right to air her grievances publicly despite a confidentiality agreement she signed with the Bryants upon her hiring. 

A SLAPP, or “Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation,” is a lawsuit intended to silence critics with the threat of having them pay the burden of their legal defense until they withdraw their complaint. California has been fighting to prevent the abuse and misuse of SLAPPs. The Bryants filed papers claiming Jimenez had the right to sue the, but not the right to blab about her experiences. Jimenez sued the couple claiming that Kobe’s wife, Vanessa, was abusive. Jimenez says she had to face a string of verbal abuse from Mrs. Bryant and was once made to dig into a bag of dog feces in order to retrieve a tag from Vanessa’s blouse so that the price of the garment could be taken out of Jimenez’s pay. You know, typical housekeeping… doodies. Chortle, snort, die.

Of course, whenever a Latina cleaning person takes a stand, it just shows that she’s ungrateful for the fact that this nation has allowed her the opportunity to do something other than pick fruit. So says one TMZ commenter:

I feel sorry for Kobe and his wife. They are being taken advantage of by an ungrateful illegal immigrate who was lucky enough to have a job cleaning their house when she could have ended up picking strawberries or selling fruit on freeway off ramps.

If Jimenez’s allegations are true, we would rather pick strawberries out of Kobe’s ass than have to work for Vanessa Bryant. Trust.

Now, we know full well that TMZ commenters are probably the last people you’d want to take seriously when it comes down to discussing anything besides “who iz a biggr faggt lol no offens” or whether sex is better with your mom than with your sister, but we don’t think the philosopher Havok’s opinions exist in a vacuum. Which is why we really hope Jimenez is telling the truth and that she’s certainly not grateful for having been hired by the Bryants.
