Perez Hilton Has Ghostwriter Says Handwriting Expert

Guanabee consulted handwriting expert Sheila Lowe to find out whether Perez Hilton’s claims last week–that he has been the sole author of his blog since it launched in 2004–are true. In a Time magazine video interview posted on Thursday, May 28, Perez says he is still writing his blog completely alone and admits that he is “finally” hiring some help.
This reeked of bullshit to us since we’ve had people come forward to tell us exclusively that they ghostwrote for Perez Hilton as far back as 2006. Unfortunately, none of them are willing to be named in a story, so we did a little detective work of our own. Sheila Lowe is the author of Handwriting of the Famous & Infamous and The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Handwriting Analysis and has been qualified as a handwriting expert in the California Court system since 1985. We got Lowe to analyze 24 samples of writing from Perez’s site dating back to 2007. We also gave her a copy of this photograph of an autographed laptop Perez signed at his SXSW 2009 “One Night In Austin Party.” We photographed this laptop ourselves, so we know it is the genuine deal.
After comparing all the samples, here’s what Lowe to say.
Most of the samples are probably written by the same person. The ones that don’t seem to fit are the “Not bad,” “Broke or cheap, ” and “I’m a new woman.”
Personality-wise, (I have never seen him and know nothing about him), the writing on the laptop is “youthful,” someone who loves attention and approval, who will do anything to get in the spotlight. His attention is easily diverted, he can be careless and hates to deal with small details—someone else will have to pick up the pieces behind him.
Details like the fact that his trademark feature–handwritten peepee caca comments on each celebrity photograph–are an easy barometer of whether or not Perez is, in fact, the self-made blogging machine he claims to be. A past employee of his who did not agree to be in this story told us via email that Perez hired them over three years ago to help edit his site, which would make sense. It was then that Perez really blew up and began doing television appearances that, we can tell you from experience, would hardly leave him time to churn out the amount of content his site produces. So, why lie about it? Ain’t no shame in being successful enough to hire a staff. Unless, of course, you are your brand. Then the very product you are selling becomes watered down when you start hiring others to be your voice.

Why is this not surprising? Perez has getting help for years. Its not pretty obvious from the low quality of the writing on the site, which as regressed to a formulaic scribble here, joke there.
It would be pretty hard to believe he writes all that content on his own even if he weren’t traipsing around the country doing appearances.
Calling it “writing” is very generous, indeed. What he really wouldn’t have time for is actually gathering the gossip he purports to break on his site. Scrawling a couple inane lines about it and faking some jizz on a photo is the easy part.
The mere syntax, grammar, spelling, punctuation, malapropisms, etc., are consistently poor and laughable in quality. Whoever is writing Hilton’s mess of a website needs to go back to fourth grade and graduate from that, first, before continuing to embarrass him/herself.
When reading Perezhilton.com now, it sounds just like x-17online and we all know that site has NEVER been about the blogging. I hate it, they try to be witty but neither has the ‘voice’ Perez is famous for. Sis likes to throw tons of exclamation points too!!
