sergiomorganleighnormanSpanish golfer Sergio Garcia has a liiittle bit of a temper. Back in 2002, he shot onlookers the bird after missing a shot on the 16th fairway.  He’s had a history of standing up to hecklers who have poked fun at him - or have been downright malicious in their insults - for such varied things as his tendency to “waggle” or his relationship with accomplished tennis player Martina Hingis.

But it’s another ex-girlfriend of Sergio’s who made headlines recently. Back in May, Sergio admitted that he hasn’t been playing as well as he could ever since his girlfriend Morgan-Leigh Norman dumped him. Morgan-Leigh also happens to be the daughter of Australian golfer Greg Norman.

Morgan-Leigh dumped Sergio early this year while the two were in Miami, and his playing had been on something of a decline ever since. Explains Garcia:

It hurt. It was probably the first time I have been really in love. It took me a while to get over it.

Oh my God, you guys! Sniffle:

We are still friends but no, we haven’t spoken since then. We have not telephoned. Obviously, because of the situation I would rather not talk to her, because when you are trying to get over a relationship it is difficult. But I don’t have a feeling of hate against her.

Waaaaaa:

I wasn’t sad because my relationship was public because everybody knew about it. I was sad because of my feelings. It is within me. It is in my heart. I am not thinking what other people are thinking about it. I am thinking what I am thinking about it. At the end of the day a relationship is still a relationship.

No word on why Morgan-Leigh (who, along with her brother, is set to inherit $103 million when her dad passes away) broke up with Sergio. Something to do with his temper, perhaps?
