It’s time for Round Four of Guanabee’s Hottest Latino Journalist Cook-Off. Round Four features three artsy-fartsy photographs, two pairs of glasses, two cell phones and some nice hair. Also! There’s still time to vote for Round Three which is open until 5pm ET tomorrow because of some technical difficulties.
Ruxandra Guidi
- Eligibility: Venezuelan-born freelance journalist based in Austin, Texas.
- Claim To Fame: She’s won tons of prestigious journalism awards and traveled all over the world for the BBC and NPR.
- Why She’s Hot: A natural beauty with a serious job. Her husband’s name is Bear.
Cecilia M. Vega
- Eligibility: Freelance reporter
- Claim To Fame: Covered the mayor’s office for the San Francisco Chronicle, was a fellow at the New York Times.
- Why She’s Hot: Never let Mayor Newsom’s teeth blind her. Always looked good doing it.

Ralph Ortega
- Eligibility: Cuban-American reporter at the New Jersey Star-Ledger
- Claim To Fame: Was one of the few bilingual reporters at the New York Times
- Why He’s Hot: He left the NY Times to work at the Star-Ledger which means he’s either crazy or really confident. Both are a turn on. Also, a reporter who smokes? Old school!
Fernando Diaz
- Eligibility: Staff writer for the Chi-town Daily News
- Claim To Fame: NAHJ rising journalist.
- Why He’s Hot: Soft-spoken and sensitive. We just want to sharpen his pencils for him.

Ralph is looking pretty sexy with that cigarette. Though journalists don’t smoke, kids. Thanks for including me in the bracket guys, I think my claim to fame is now being in the contest. Have gotten a ton of people emailing “LOL.” Seriously, since I gave up underwear modeling, it’s all be downhill.
