Valeria Fernandez

• Eligibility: Uruguayan-born, independent journalist based in Arizona.
• Claim-to-fame: She’s won multiple awards for her coverage of immigration in Arizona, including a 2009 series on Sheriff Mexican Hater’s raids in Hispanic neighborhoods.
• Why she’s hot: Any woman who fights the good fight in Arizona should be sainted, let alone win this contest.
