Homeowners in Azle, Texas have created a mild stir in their neighborhood after choosing to display a sign reading "Hispanics, Keep Out!" on their property. Some neighbors feel the sign is in poor taste at best and, at worst, hateful and that it should be taken down.
The homeowners, however, are inclined to disagree. A 72-year-old woman who answered the door for reporters echoed the sentiments expressed on the sign and is, in fact, so proud of her convictions that she refused to disclose her name to the press, perhaps so that her words may belong to the people, like a dirty limerick whose original author is lost to time:

Well, you know, I don't care. I'm upset about them coming over here illegally, too. We think this is our privilege as an American to protect our property. This is our property. Some neighbors went and did a little investigating or, perhaps, wandered up the tree-lined driveway to borrow a cup of sugar from their friendly neighborlady: Now, we know from experience that geniuses tend to be narrow-minded in that all their intelligence and efforts and energy are focused on their unique area of expertise, be it inventing light bulbs or defining gravity or hating immigrants. So it's perfectly understandable that the homeowners would neglect to see the subtle difference between "Hispanic" and "illegal immigrant." Perhaps they will learn this distinction when their young relative is discovered with his lips wrapped tightly around the pulsating member of a young Latino named Enrique, or when a rather large Ecuadorian nurse named Marta changes their catheter at the Azle Manor Nursing Home. Life, you see, has a funny way of making sure we're educated.

We are not the only one who are coming here illegally. There are a SHIT load of Asians and Europeans here illegally too. What a bitch!
ReplyEveryone get out of this freakin' pool that is America then, since we're all essentially illegals. Only Native Americans allowed. And everyone who claims they are from those clever people from the Mayflower, ya'll were the first to cross the border! People like this, just make me want to leave the States asap.
ReplyActually, the "Native" Americans crossed the Bering Strait, so they're not actually native, either. Only the buffaloes get to stay.
ReplyLooks she's a fan of FOX News and CNN's Lou Dobbs.
ReplyWow, totally didn't know that. Thanks for the info =]
ReplyResistance is useless, your signs are worthless and portray nothing but your ignorance. We are bilingual and we are ready to mingle and we are here to stay baby.
ReplyWell if you want to rewind to the time the Bering Strait provided the passage way for the "Native Americans" to cross over, then let me rewind a little further by saying not even buffaloes can stay since they either came from Asia or Africa when the continents were known as Pangea. Either way, this old lady can't tell her ass from her elbow....
ReplyI venture to guess que ningun latino was in any hurry to meet this lovely lady before her oh so friendly sentiments went up. I'm actually glad the sign keeps us safe from this gem of a person.
Replygosh...if only it was halloween and i was 13 again...first house on the list to egg, besides i don't think it'll be too hard to figure out her name...just saying.
ReplyEveryone get out of the pool!
ReplyMcSpickhater?
Replysounds like she has a racist dog, too.
Replyhow cute that the gringa refuses to live in the 21st century. awww, check out her racist drawl. i hope i grow up to hate just like her.
ReplyMcSpichater Beatabeanerson
Replyah well who cares really. She's old. She'll probably die next year or something
Replywhats she gonna do if she needed the services of the fire dept.,medical,or even a police officer because theres a possiblity one might be hispanic. should they not rush into her house to put a fire out or to rescue her.
ReplyLOL
ReplyI find it interesting that they chose the word 'Hispanics'. In my experience people like this don't make distinctions and assume everyone is 1. Illegal 2. Mexican.
ReplyAww, looks like Gramma didn't pay attention to her Texas History class in Junior High. Silly northwest Tarrant County people... (This comment brought to you by someone who went to school in a northeast Tarrant County fancypants-type school-learnin' place.)
ReplyI live in Azle and I am ashamed that someone would actually do something like this. Even if she has that opinion she really should keep it to herself. There are alot of Hispanic people in this town that she has offended! This is something that a redneck hillbilly would do!! I've driven by that house a thousand times and have seen it personally. It's disturbing.
