Bollocks: Two British Law Students Arrested In Brazil For Making Up A Robbery

Two British law school graduates have been arrested by Brazilian authorities after having allegedly lied about being robbed. The mother of one of the two young women says her daughter should be released because she is gorgeous. Oh, hon. If it didn’t work for Yolanda Saldivar, it isn’t going to work for anyone.
The two 23-year-olds allegedly told Brazilian police that about $2,000’s worth of items had been stolen from them during a bus ride from Foz do Iguacu to Rio de Janeiro. Authorities, noting inconsistencies in the women’s stories, accompanied them back to their hostel, where the objects that had been reported missing were found in lockers under their beds.
If convicted of fraud, the two may face up to five years in prison. The mother of one of these young solictors-to-be, however, would like the Brazilian government to kindly be both “fair and lenient” in dealing with her daughter and her friend. Besides, popular hotties don’t fare well in prison:
I spoke to her on Monday and she seems devastated. She is absolutely traumatised, they both are. There has been a misunderstanding. Shanti and Rebecca are two hard-working young girls, never been in trouble.
This unfortunate incident came along at the end of their nine-month journey around the world. We hope the Brazilian justice system will see it as a misunderstanding and the girls will be able to come home safely. We are asking them to please show the world fairness and leniency.
Shanti is industrious, studious, so hard working. She’s just a popular, really gorgeous girl, really thoughtful and hard working. She’s a great girl.
Apparently this all centres around an iPod and a phone. We don’t want her whole future ruined over this. She has never been in trouble before in her life.
Oh ok, then! Let ‘em go.

people are so stupid… they are devistated and traumatized. they should have thought of that before they calld the police.
They freaked out over a fucking iPod and a phone? Really?
As much as these girls are really stupid, the Brazilian judicial and police system is ridiculous. Normally, college-educated people are put into separate prisons, but since the girls didn’t have physical proof of their degrees on their person, they were put into a normal prison where they don’t even have a cell and sleep in the hallway. Brazilian murderers, thieves, and kidnappers are often NOT put in jail before their sentencing, but because these girls are gringas, the Brazilians are loving torturing them.
There was no misunderstanding. The girls tried to convince the police that they had her stuff stolen for get the insurance money.
If the the brazilian police gave the same treatment the England Police gave to Jean Charles, the brazilian guy who was murdered by mistake, these 2 would be dead by now.
Law is law anywhere … don’t matter who you are.
Which one is supposed to be the gorgeous one? Not seeing it.
