Brüno Makes Fun Of Salma Hayek While Engaging In A Little Mexican Face-Sitting
15 July 2009, 5:30 PM. By Alex Alvarez
Brüno - a movie that is either, depending who you are, about how silly gheys are or how silly people who think gheys are so silly are - has a few jokes at the expense of Mexicans, including their Queen, Salma Hayek.
Of course, you already know that the film includes a scene in which Paula Abdul is invited to sit on Mexicans while chatting with Brüno about gay things (a similar scene featuring LaToya Jackson was cut from the film following Michael Jackson’s death).
In another scene, Brüno decides to wax his ass and bleach his asshole. As you do. The Austrian claims that his first spa choice was the place where actress Salma Hayek gets her hairy ass done. He then makes a joke about the spa workers making a coat of her discarded body hair.
Of course, we realize the movie is meant to be seen as a satirical portrait of society’s obsession with celebrity culture and material things, as well as an exposé, of sorts, on homophobia in America (although we kind of were already aware of its existence, you know). But do you think most of the movie’s audience are shelling out money to watch satire, or to laugh at homos and Messicans? Le shrug. Preferably made of Salma’s lip hair.
