VOTE! Hottest Latino Journalist Round 11: Paul Saucido VS. Doug Fernandez & Natalie Solis VS. Maria Leticia Hinojosa
2 July 2009, 4:11 PM. By Cindy Casares
It’s time to vote in Round 11 of Guanabee’s Hottest Latino Journalist Cook-Off where the only thing hotter than the journos is the grill. (We have no idea what that means.) Also, there’s still 45 minutes until the Round 10 polls close! Now, some of you are of a mind that professionals shouldn’t be judged by their looks, but by the caliber of their stories. Well, maybe you should go listen to NPR or read The New Yorker where other liberals will share your elitest values. We’re real Americans and we’re just trying to appreciate our God-given natural resources. Now, on with the show.
Paul Saucido

- Eligibility: Freelance music journalist based in Austin, Texas, contributes to ME-Television & Indieoma.com.
- Claim To Fame: Knows EVERYBODY in indie rock en español. Was an original LATV VJ back in the day and once played a wetback on Reno 911.
- Why He’s Hot: Okay, Paul’s not a thug like we sort of inferred before. That was just a fantasy of ours left over from this picture. He’s really a very nice boy from Santa Monica who looks good in just about anything.
Doug Fernandez

- Eligibility: Co-anchor for ABC News in the ‘Burque.
- Claim-to-fame: Once stayed on the air for over 16 hours covering the Bosque, NM fires.
- Why he’s hot: His hair never moves. He’s like a Latino Ken doll.

Maria Leticia Gomez

- Eligibility: Co-anchor for Univision 14 in San Francisco
- Claim-to-fame: Born in Argentina and raised in Mexico City until she moved to the States at 13, she is a pan-latino journalist.
- Why she’s hot: A renaissance woman, Maria Leticia speaks four languages and plays the violin. Hawt.
Natalie Solis

- Eligibility: Reporter for MyFox in Dallas/Ft. Worth.
- Claim To Fame: Raised in San Antonio by a single mom, she went to Brown and got her first news job at NBC New York. A Sonia Sotomayor in the making?
- Why She’s Hot: Natalie is fearless. She’s traveled all over the world and still manages to stand living in Dallas. That’s someone who loves her job.
