Mariah Carey’s Michael Jackson Tribute, “I’ll Be There.”
8 July 2009, 9:42 AM. By Cindy Casares
Yesterday Mariah Carey reprised her Michael Jackson cover, “I’ll Be There,” for his worldwide-telecast, blockbuster, memorial service. Trey Lorenz, who duetted with her on the 1992 MTV Unplugged version, also sang. And you could really hear how much Mariah cannot hit a fucking note.

Always loved Mariah even as a little boy, but I cringed when I heard her butcher Little Mike’s song. She even did the finger-air-point-technique to try and hit the notes (they do this in chiors to help tone deaf folks maintain their parts) and she couldn’t do it. What happened mama? You were talented once too…
A friend of mine, who is musically literate unlike myself, was just telling me last weekend that she sings all over the scale because she can’t actually hit a note. I didn’t believe it until i saw her performance yesterday.
OMAIGA! What happened to my girl Mariah, coño! It was painful to watch. (more painful that Glitter) She totally did that Open Hand Tremor gesture to distract us from the failing notes, and also too the Dramatic Hair Toss.
There is no excuse for that hairdo either.
Hahah. La pobre.
as michael k said yesterday that she paid tribute to both MJ and farrah fawcett. i say farrah FAIL!
Mariah is just making excuses she never got teary eye… she couldn’t sing the song… she didn’t shine… shut the hell & stop making excuses!
