New York Magazine Features Hipster Job, A Movie Co-Directed By Our Own Jack Tomas
30 July 2009, 10:29 AM. By Jack Tomas

One of Anyguey’s own contributing editors has a write up in New York Magazine’s Daily Intel for a movie he helped make. [Ed. Note: That editor is me, Jack, bitches!] The movie was co-written, co-directed, and co-edited by your old pal Jack Tomas and his partner, (film making partner, not like, life partner), Thomas De Napoli.
The film is a comic retelling of The Book of Job, from the Bible. As you may recall from Sunday school, Job is the story of a good man who is rich, pious, and well loved by his community. Satan then tells God that the only reason Job is loyal to him is because he has blessed him with so much. So they make a bet, and God has Satan kill Job’s family, kill his cattle, destroy his crops, and give him boils. His friends tell Job he must have deserved it, but Job insists he is innocent. Job then confronts God and asks him why He did this to him. God simply tells Job that He is God and Job doesn’t understand why He does stuff. Ha!
In this version, Job and Co. are hipsters living in Williamsburg. Job is the king of the hipsters, and has a hot American Apparel model girlfriend with ironic tattoos. Then glam rock God and punk rock Satan screw up his life.
Check it out, and tell your friends!

Job is so hot that I can forgive him for wearing a fedora.
P.S. This lil’ movie was fun!
P.P.S. Because I’m classy, I won’t use a “Hand Job” pun.
P.P.P.S. Although I wanted to.
Hilarious.
