Paul Saucido? Really? LOL
ReplyGreco-Roman poses in bronze - with or without figleaf?
ReplyCongrats Paul! I hope we both get opposite-sex trophies sans fig leaves. To Cindy and the Guanabee people I hope you donOt mind, IOve written an acceptance speech ALOL. I want to thank the people at Guanabee for a fun and delightful pop contest. I was humbled to be nominated, and more so at the level of support which kept me in the running. As the sole East Coast Dominicana who is not from a traditional Ivy, and who hasnOt exposed a terrorist cell or traced the origins of swine flu, I didnOt think I stood a chance against the onslaught of hotness coming my way. So imagine my surprise when my name kept moving up the brackets. This could have never happened without the support of many people from many different places, who not only know me as a Ospunky, kick-assO kind of girl, but as a reporter who has worked very hard to get where I am, who always tries to reflect the best that our cultura has to offer, and who is proud to be part of building an alternative network for Latinos. This is also a lesson on how a simple tweet or Facebook post can easily spiral out of control. To them, I dedicate this win! So, here goes the promised Shout-Outs! To the cult of Wesleyan University, and their readiness to rally around a worthy cause O it comes from years of protesting everything from Prop 187 to bad food at the freshman cafeteria. Go Wes! To my family at Spanish Broadcasting, the team at Mega TV, particularly Jon my producer, and La MegaOs morning show, El Vacilon, for which this contest provided many jokes, some at my expense. La Mega se Pega! To Shirley, and all the formerly employed people of NBC UniversalOs Telemundo WNJU. I miss you guys O journalism is not the same without your voices and talents. We will rise again! To my obsessive compulsive, more than slightly paranoid husband, who can now say heOs sleeping with OThe Hottest.O IOm sure that was his sole motivation. To my Dominicanos in NY and DR especially Clari, Ana, Nelfi and APAReDoLS (Asociacion Para Apoyar a Reporteras Dominicanas Llamadas Santana) O Que lo que! To the ODirty South/UptownO alliance of Misha and Erika and their Teen Machine. You girls behave! To Dianne and her brood of Bridezillas, of which I am a proud member - Thanks! To Eric, and the Union of Former Pornfilm Cameramen of Colombia O QOubo Pues! To Revolucion Latina, and the Broadway Theater crew. You guys are awesome O snaps and jazz hands for you! To my new friends in New York, Miami, San Francisco (Todd and his queer voting block!) Puerto Rico, Chicago and L.A. I promise I wonOt let this crown go to my head ;-) To all the very cool people who were candidates to this contest. I hope we can stay in touch. If I got anything from this experience, itOs a connection to all the beautiful & talented Latino Journalists out there making moves. Oh, & I also got a cyber-stalker, but oh well. And to all my Twitter and Facebook fan and friends, who now know a little more about me, about Guanabee, and like Verizon, about the power of the networkA Thank You!

ReplyME TV producer faces sex assault charge Affidavit alleges date rape after birthday party Updated: Wednesday, 28 Oct 2009, 4:21 PM CDT Published : Wednesday, 28 Oct 2009, 11:37 AM CDT AUSTIN (KXAN) - A local comedian, actor and TV personality remained in jail Wednesday on charges of raping a woman twice after his birthday party last month. Paul Saucido, producer of the Sonido Boombox show on the local ME TV network, is charged with two counts of sexual assault - a second degree felony - after the Sept. 22 party. The charges each carry a sentence of two to 20 years in prison and a fine up to $10,000, as well as potential registry as a sex offender. Police say Saucido, 39, was at his birthday party with the victim at an apartment on San Marcos Street in Austin. The woman drank too much, an arrest affidavit says, and blacked out in the bathroom after getting sick. She awoke in the bathroom to find Saucido raping her, she told police, and she screamed in pain before blacking out again. A friend at the party went looking for her when a taxi came to take her and the victim to the friend's apartment, and the victim was nowhere to be found, the affidavit says. "(The friend) knocked on the bathroom door, as it was believed that (the woman) was inside. After a moment ... (the friend) heard the bathroom door open and saw Saucido look out, then close and lock the door again," the affidavit says. "Once Saucido opened the door, (the friend) saw (the woman) was in there with him. (The friend) said Saucido carried (the woman) to the taxi." They took the taxi to the friend's house. When Saucido, the woman, the friend and her boyfriend all arrived at the friend's house, the boyfriend noticed that the woman was intoxicated to the point of "what he could consider alcohol poisoning," and they laid her down on a couch in the living room and covered her with a blanket, the affidavit says. Saucido lay down on a nearby couch, the affidavit says. Half an hour later, the friend and boyfriend heard noises coming from the living room, the affidavit says. The boyfriend went to investigate and found Saucido again having sex with the woman, who was still passed out face down on the couch, the affidavit says. The boyfriend went to get the friend, and the two of them returned to the living room to find the woman still passed out, and Saucido gone, police said. On police request, the victim agreed to a recorded phone call to Saucido, during which she asked him about the assault, the affidavit says. The papers say Saucido told her during the call that while the incident was happening, he thought to himself, "I don't know what ... I'm doing. I need to sober up." She also told him that she was missing her underwear from that night, and he responded that he had them but hadn't returned them because "I didn't think you wanted a reminder of that night," court papers say. Saucido's Web site and blog, LatinoSlant , specializes in Latino musical artists. According to his bio on the blog, Saucido is a self-described "Austin-based, Califoria-raised actor, writer, consultant who has worked with LA Weekly, ME Television, La Banda Elastica, amongst others." He remained in jail as of 11 a.m. Wednesday. Bond had been set at $40,000 per count.
